^Lot 2047 WINCHESTER PRE-WAR MODEL 70 SUPER GRADE BOLT

ACTION CARBINE. Cal. .30 GOV'T'06. (30-06). S# 21164. Bbl. 20" carbine length of Winchester proof steel. Hooded bead front sight on a stippled ramp, filler in rear sight cut w/ a Lyman 48 WJS receiver sight. Bottom of bbl. is marked "1906, 38" indicating 30-06 cal. & 1938 manufacture. Type 1 pre-war action w/ cloverleaf tang. The bolt has pre-war style safety & is properly numbered on the bottom. Extractor, magazine box, follower, ejector, bolt release & trigger guard are proper. The floorplate is stamped "SUPER GRADE". Supergrade style stock of nicely figured walnut. Features include straight comb, small oval cheekpiece, checkered steel buttplate, hard rubber grip cap, Super Grade style sling swivels, black forearm tip & Super Grade style checkering. CONDITION: bbl. & action retain 90% lightly worn blue showing light muzzle & edge wear. Lyman rear sight shows edge wear w/ spots of corrosion on polished parts. The stock has added finish over small dents, handling marks & wear spots. Very good bright bore. PROVENANCE: Estate of Russell Dickerman. (25-1937/DS). CURIO. $4,000-6,000.
